Modern.az news portal, run by the Neutral Parliament Journalists’ Union is going to suspend operation, the Union’s Head Elshad Eyvazli reported to IRFS.
According to him, the website, the aim of which is to establish effective cooperation between the parliament and society through mass media and support the application of new media, is going to stop operating as of late June, 2011.
“Within the 2 years of its operation, the website has been systematically covering the operation of the parliament and was known by the readers as a reliable source providing clear and transparent coverage of the parliament’s activities. The website, earlier operating with support from media representatives, now has to suspend its operation due to a lack of funds,” Eyvazli said.
