MUSHFIG ALESGERLI ELECTED CHAIRMAN OF JUHI AGAIN

On May 10, in the conference hall of Baku Journalism School, the Journalists Trade Union (known locally at JUHI) conducted its fourth congress.

During the congress, Alesgerli was re-elected as JUHI’s chairman. Alesgerli told the Institute for Reporters’ Freedom and Safety, “At present the union has 125 members.  Eighteen people participated in the congress. During the congress participants discussed the media situation in the country.” Alesgerli said that JUHI conducts congresses once every two years. According to his JUHI is looking forward to the Press Council’s Congress and plans to make concrete contributions to the event.
