NTRC CHAIRMAN SAYS FOREIGN RADIO STATIONS WILL NOT BE OPENED

“The issue regarding the broadcasting of the foreign television and radio in Azerbaijan should be taken off the agenda”. National Television and Radio Council chairman Nushiravan Maharramli told this to APA.

Maharramli said that Azerbaijan’s legislation does not allow the broadcasting of foreign radio and television through the national frequency. “Therefore, I consider this issue solved.”
The broadcasting of “Azadlig”, “Voice of America”, and BBC radio stations via FM frequency was banned according to the decision of the NTRC issued on 30 December 2008.
