Vusal Zeynalov, an activist with Sumgayit branch of the opposition party Azerbaijan Popular Front Party (APFP), was detained in Aghstafa region. The activist’s registered address is in Aghstafa region and he was arrested while being there, APFP Deputy Chair Gozal Bayramli reported.
Aghstafa regional court found Vusal Zeynalov guilty under Article 535 (wilful disobedience to a lawful requirement of a police or military officer) of the Code of Administrative Offences, and sentenced him to administrative imprisonment of 20 days.
APFP believes Vusal Zeynalov’s arrest is a reprisal for his critical posts on social networks.
