Today (5 September) imprisoned "Azadlig" Newspaper Editor-in-Chief Ganimat Zahid’s (Zahidov) wife Ayanda Mursaliyeva visited him in Prison #17.
Ayanda Mursaliyeva told the Institute for Reporters’ Freedom and Safety that Zahid’s health has deteriorated, and the pain in his legs has intensified.
“His rheumatism pain has increased. He needs to receive one course of treatment. Ganimat should be transferred to the Central Treatment Facility of the Penitentiary Service for this. But he hasn't been transferred to the medical facility yet,” emphasized Mursaliyeva.
“Doctors will determine whether to transfer Ganimat Zahidov to the medical facility or not. If he has health problems, he will be transferred to Medical treatment immediately.” Mehman Sadigov, an employee from the Public Relations Department of the Ministry of Justice Penitentiary Service, told this to IRFS.
