This morning Binegedi District Police Department investigator Elnur Aliyev told the Institute for Reporters' Freedom and Safety that the medical examination results for the case of beaten “Azadlig” Newspaper journalist Agil Khalil have been received.

It is stated in the results that the injuries to the journalist have been confirmed, but he was not injured on 22 February, but rather, allegedly, 4-5 days earlier.
Aliyev added, "The people who are accused of beating the journalist were interrogated in the department today. They said that the journalist tried to take their pictures and that is why there was misunderstanding between them. Then they insulted one another."
IRFS contacted Agil Khalil to learn his position on this matter. The journalist emphasized that he has not receive any information about this yet. He said that he tried to contact Aliyev all day long but wasn't able to reach him. "They suggested that I reconcile and kept contacting me during that time, but now I can't reach anyone," he added.
