“PIA” EMPLOYEE ALLEGEDLY FACES PRESSURE

“Poligon” Information Agency employee, fourth year student at the State Oil Academy of Azerbaijan, Elmin Badalov allegedly faced pressure by the leadership of his school.

The Institute for Reporters’ Freedom and Safety was told this by Elmin Badalov.

He noted that he covered the bribe cases and tyranny of teachers in the State Oil Academy of Azerbaijan in the article “The report from the State Oil Academy of Azerbaijan” on “Poligon” Information Agency, on 2 November. On 13 November the Oil Mechanics Faculty dean received him and blamed him of writing an article on somebody’s order.

E.Badalov noted that the university leadership wanted to expel him from the school under different pretexts. “The students who were responded to my questions during my interview requested that I remove the report from the website,” said Badalov. “I want to note once again that my writing regarding the bribe cases in the State Oil Academy is true and I will always cover these despite any harassment.”
