Plaintiffs have no further complaints against Bakhtiyar Mammadov
Today Elchin Khanbutayev, Vagif Kalayev and Yashar Namazov – the plaintiffs from Gazakh region, testified in Baku Grave Crimes Court on the case of human rights defender and Faith and Law LLC director Bakhtiyar Mammadov.
Judge Mahmud Agalarov presided over the hearing. The plaintiffs said that as they have been compensated for the damage, and they have no further complaints against Mammadov. Bakhtiyar Mammadov, his lawyer Anar Gasimli, and public prosecutor Ramazan Hadiyev attended the hearing.
Bakhtiyar Mammadov was arrested on December 30th 2011. He has frequently faced pressure for his work defending the rights of the military servicemen, whose houses near Flag Square were demolished. Sabail District Court sentenced Mammadov to 3 months of pre-trial detention under Article 182.3.2 (extortion with intent to occupy a large area of property).
