May 18th, 2010
Three special format lawsuits filed against Assistance to the Defense of Democracy Public Union Chairman and human rights defender Vidadi Isgenderov were joined into one consideration and Yasamal District Court Judge Khagani Tagiyev will consider the lawsuits. The hearing was scheduled for 2 June at 4:00 p.m.

Yesterday, 17 May, in the Yasamal District Court, hearings were conducted on the lawsuit of Goychay region Police Office Chief Vugar Mammadyarov (under the chairmanship of Judge Abbas Rzayev) and on the lawsuit of Goychay region Police Department Chief Inspector on Administrative Prosecutions Bakhtiyar Hashimov (under the chairmanship of Judge Khagani Tagiyev). This decision was adopted in these hearings.
The same decision was adopted according to the motion of the plaintiff during the hearing held on 11 May, under the chairmanship of Judge Elchin Gurbanov, on the lawsuit of Goychay region police Department Investigation Unit Chief Rufat Ibayev.
The plaintiffs, Goychay region Police Office Vugar Mammadyarov, Goychay region Police Department Chief Inspector on Administrative Prosecutions Bakhtiyar Hashimov, and Goychay region Police Department Investigation Unit Chief Rufat Ibayev considered that V.Isgenderov slandered the plaintiffs in the article entitled “Police got a 3000 AZN bribe from me” published on 2 April in Azadlig newspaper and filed special format lawsuits against him under article 147.2 (slandering by accusing someone in grave or especially grave crimes) of the Criminal Code.
