STUDENT-JOURNALIST CLAIMS HE FACED HARASSMENT

Poligon Information Agency (pia.az) editor and fourth year student of “Oil Mechanics” faculty at Azerbaijan State Oil Academy Elmin Badalov told the Institute for Reporters` Freedom and Safety that he was subjected to bias attitude of teacher Elshad Orujaliyev during first term examinations.

According to Elmin Badalov, Elshad Orujaliyev claimed that the student copied the answers and dismissed him from the exam half an hour before the examination ended.
E.Badalov added that his “failure” was connected to wrong answers not to copying the answers.
Oil Mechanics Faculty Dean Gasim Mammadov told IRFS that the dismissal of the student from the examination was connected with copying answers from pre-prepared notes and his “failure” was linked to giving wrong answers.
G.Mammadov noted that Badalov has the right to appeal to the appeals commission created in the dean’s office.
Elmin Badalov wrote an article regarding bribe cases in Azerbaijan State Oil Academy. The student-journalist claimed that pressure used against him is related to his article.
