TAX MINISTRY BEGINS INSPECTIONS AT RADIO LIBERTY

The Tax Ministry will begin inspections at Radio Liberty. The Institute for Reporters’ Freedom and Safety (IRFS) was told this by the radio’s Baku Bureau Head Khadija Ismayilova. She said that the letter they received from the Tax Ministry stated that the inspection will begin on 11 May. Ismayilova noted that such inspections were not conducted before.

The broadcasts of "Radio Liberty", "Voice of America" and BBC via FM frequencies in Azerbaijan were ceased on 1 January 2009. It is possible to listen to these radios by means of short wave (SW), satellite and internet.
