Training on Internet Governance Forum completed successfully

A five-day online journalism workshop “Reporting on Internet Governance Forum” held in IRFS press center was successfully completed on August 31. The training course, organized by the Expression Online Initiative and DW-AKADEMIE, was run by Deutsche Welle project manager Toma Tasovac and trainer Sonia Phalnikar.

rightThe workshop participants shared their knowledge on online journalism and digital media. Main subjects of discussion included: (i) Press, radio, TV and Internet: similarities and differences, (ii) Typical features of online journalism, (iii) Target groups and consumer behavior, (iv) IGF and its function, Internet research and its pitfalls, Evaluating resources, (v) Writing for the Web, Article structure, Text optimization for screen reading and so on. Participants were also given practical assessment tasks. The fulfilled tasks were placed in the course website.  
At the end of the course, the participants were awarded certificates by trainer Toma Tasovac. IRFS director Emin Huseynov and IMS program manager Gulnara Akhundova congratulated the participants on successful completion of the course and wished them good luck.
