Trial of Emin Milli’s Brother-in-Law Continues

Ø  Nazim Agabayov’s lawyer, Adil Ismayilov, filed a written motion requesting that copies of the act on taking Nazim Agabayov to the forensic examination office for drug test and back and the spectrogram that needed to be attached to the expert opinion should be presented to the court, and the forensic expert should be summoned and questioned as a witness;

Ø  The judge said he would send inquiries regarding the issues raised;

Ø  The hearing was postponed due to the witnesses’ failure to appear. 

Baku Grave Crimes Court, chaired by judge Afgan Hajiyev, held a hearing on the criminal case against Nazim Agabayov, the brother-in-law of Meydan TV director Emin Milli, who has been arrested on drug charges.

At the beginning, the judge announced that the witnesses had failed to appear again despite receiving an official summons.

 

Lawyer’s motion:

Nazim Agabayov’s lawyer Adil Ismayilov filed a written motion requesting that copies of the documentation on taking Nazim Agabayov to the Drug Dispensary for a drug test and back (escorted by the police officer Vugar Najafov) and the toxicology results, both of which needed to be attached to the expert opinion, be presented to the court. He also requested that the forensic expert Aybaniz Huseynova be summoned and questioned as a witness. Regarding the toxicology report, the lawyer said that although this document is referenced in the expert opinion, it has not been annexed.

Regarding the motion, the judge only said that inquiries would be sent to the relevant agencies.

Today’s hearing was postponed until February 3, 14.00, as the witnesses expected to testify failed to appear.  

 

Background: Nazim Agabayov was arrested on July 27, 2015, and is charged with drug trafficking.
