YENI MUSAVAT NEWSPAPER BANNED IN YEVLAKH

The sale of Yeni Musavat has been banned in Yevlakh region, reported newspaper correspondent Seymur Haji to IRFS today. Haji received this information from Yevlakh resident Magsud Suleymanov.

According to Haji’s source, the sale of the newspaper has been restricted under the orders of Yevlakh Executive Head Elmar Valiyev. The reason behind this directive is, apparently, the newspaper’s 2 February article, ‘Yevlakh’s Executive Head builds three villas in Goygol.’ ”
We contacted the Yevlakh Executive Administration, where the report was dismissed by an official who refused to identify himself.
Yeni Musavat daily has been in operation since 1989.
