APPEALS OF MARCH 12 PROTESTERS REJECTED

Today, the Baku Appeals Court heard appeals filed by youth activists Natig Ibrahimov and Tural Abbasli, head of the Musavat Party Youth Committee, against the 12 March ruling by Sabayil District Court. The youth activists were all arrested on 12 March, during protests in the city centre.

A limited number of journalists were allowed to attend the hearings.
First, Judge Jamal Ramazanov heard Ibrahimov’s appeal, and upheld the sentence of 8 days of administrative detention.
Then Judge Hasan Ahmadov heard Abbasli’s appeal, and upheld the sentence for 10 days of administrative detention.
Later, Judge Sahibkhan Mirzayev heard the appeal filed by Kheyrulla Agayev, who was arrested for protesting on March 12, which  he denies. His appeal was also rejected, and he was sentenced to 7 days of administrative detention.
