Yesterday, 16 June, a group of media heads met Internal Minister Ramil Usubov regarding the restrictions imposed on newspaper sales in Baku recently.
According to Azadlig newspaper, Press Council Chairman Aflatun Amashov, his deputy Umud Rahimoglu, Head of the State Support Fund for Mass Media Vugar Safarli, Azadlig newspaper director Azer Ahmedov, Yeni Musavat newspaper editor-in-chief Rauf Arifoglu, Zerkalo newspaper editor-in-chief Elchin Shikhli, and Iki sahil newspaper editor-in-chief Vugar Rahimzade participated in the meeting.
New points on the newspaper dissemination problem were discussed, and an agreement was obtained during the meeting.
Since the beginning of this month, police employees have been imposing bans on physical persons dealing with the legal newspaper sales in the framework of the plan to prevent street trade.
