FOREIGN AFFAIRS MINISTRY RESPONDS TO IRFS INQUIRY

Azerbaijan’s Foreign Affairs Ministry (FAM) responded to the information inquiry from the Institute for Reporters’ Freedom and Safety.

In its inquiry on 10 June 2009, IRFS asked the Ministry to provide information regarding international documents that Azerbaijan Republic signed in the TV broadcasting sector. The list of international documents that Azerbaijan Republic signed regarding the TV broadcasting sector has also been included in the response letter signed by FAM Press Service Head Substitute Elkhan Polukhov.
 
The following contracts have been included on the list:
 
1.    Cooperation protocol between Azerbaijan Republic State TV and Radio Committee and Turkish Republic Radio and Television Committee. Ankara, 2 November, 1992.       
2.    Protocol in cinematography, radio programs and television sector between Azerbaijan Republic Government and China National Government. Beijing, 7 March, 1994.
3.    Agreement about cooperation between Azerbaijan Republic State Television and Radio Programs Company and Iran Islam Republic “Seda ve Sima” State Television and Radio Programs Department. Tehran, 2 July, 1994.
4.    Agreement about rules and terms of broadcasting Russian TV and Radio organizations’ programs in Azerbaijan Republic’s area, between Azerbaijan Republic Government and Russian Federation Government. Baku, 7 October, 1995.
5.    Contract between Azerbaijan Republic and Turkey Republic about Television broadcasting (agreement note). Baku, 8 December, 1995.
6.    Contract about broadcasting of Foreign TV and radio channels from Turkish Telecom Cable TV Network. Ankara, 22 May, 2001.
