FOREIGN JOURNALIST REFUSED ENTRY TO AZERBAIJAN

İzvestiya newspaper correspondent Yuri Snegirev has been banned from Azerbaijan. According to Qafqaz.info, the journalist had intended to follow his trip to the disputed territory of Nagorno Karabakh with a visit to Baku.

He published article on details of his visit titled “people don’t expect war in Karabakh, but they are preparing for war”.

According to Voice of Russia radio, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs criticized journalist because he did not use the Azerbaijani name of Khankendi properly in his article.

Anyone who visits Nagorno-Karabakh (a territory occupied by Armenia illegally), especially journalists, is included in an official “black list” and refused entry to Azerbaijan.
