The plaintiff’s representative Avaz Temirkhan requested that the source that was referred to in the article in question should be revealed and the lawsuit should be fulfilled.
The plaintiff’s other representative, E.Abbasov, asked the court to impose a ban on any articles written by the defendants about the plaintiffs in the media until the trial ends.
The defendants claimed that in the article in question they did not write anything about National Union Movement Head Lale Shovket.
The judge scheduled the hearing on this case for 4 May at 10:00 a.m.
The Institute for Reporters’ Freedom and Safety notes that although Judge K.Mammadov gave permission to photograph and film during the previous hearing, IRFS representative was not allowed to record during the yesterday’s hearing.
On 11-17 February Olke newspaper published an article entitled “Who is the agent with the nickname ‘Madam.’” L.Shovket claimed that information about her not conforming to reality found its place in the article, and therefore, demanded that a refutation be published in the newspaper, and that they apologize and each pay 100 000 AZN in fines. It is noted in the lawsuit that the amount received from the defendants via court decision should be deposited into the account of special facility in Bilgah village for war and labor invalids.
