On August 8th Yasamal District Court chaired by judge Khagani Tagiyev held a preparatory meeting on the criminal lawsuit filed by Lachin Regional Executive chief Ramiz Jabrayilov against Gundalik Baki newspaper editor-in-chief Habil Veliyev under Article 147.2 (libel by accusing a person of committing a grave crime) and Article 148 (insult).
The judge scheduled the appeal for consideration on August 14th , 12:15am, Veliyev reported to the IRFS.
Lachin Regional Executive chief Ramiz Jabrayilov filed a criminal lawsuit with Yasamal District Court against Gundalik Baki newspaper editor-in-chief Habil Veliyev under Article 147.2 (libel by accusing a person of committing a grave crime) and Article 148 (insult). He sued the chief editor for his series of articles about the activities of Ramiz Jabrayilov printed in Gundalik Baki newspaper.
Once the lawsuit is granted, Veliyev may face corrective labor up to 2 years or imprisonment up to 3 years.
