According to APA, U.S. Ambassador to Azerbaijan Anne Derse told journalists today that she hopes the inspections being conducted in “Chap Evy” Publishing House are simply standard inspections.
Derse said that “Chap Evy” carries out vital functions. The publishing house prints independent and opposition newspapers.
“It would be good if many publishing houses like this operated in Azerbaijan, and they assisted with media freedom,” said Derse. “I believe it is always good to have a lot of information. Taking into consideration the mass media situation in Azerbaijan, I am always following the latest events. Companies everywhere in the world must adhere to the legislation.”
