Motions denied in Murad Adilov's appeal hearing

 

 

On September 3, Shirvan Appeal Court, chaired by judge Ismayil Ahmadov, held the preliminary hearing on the appeal filed by APFP member Murad Adilov. Adilov was not brought to court for the proceedings.

 

Adilov’s lawyer Yalchin Imanov presented three motions. The first requested the removal of pieces of evidence from the case file and the termination of criminal proceedings. The second motion requested the amendment of the pretrial detention measures, and the third advocated holding a partial retrial during the appeal hearing. Prosecutor Jeyhun Aliyev asked the court to deny the motions.

 

After deliberation, the court left the first motion unconsidered, and rejected the other two.

The next hearing was set for September 21, 10.30am.

 

Murad Adilov stands charged of drug possession (large quantity). He was sentenced to six years in jail by Lankaran Regional Grave Crimes Court on March 14, 2014. He is the brother of Natig Adilov, the head of APFP press service.
