Jailed Journalist Seymur Hazi Receives International Award

Seymur Hazi – a journalist at Azadliq, an opposition newspaper critical of the government, and a host of the TV program Azerbaijani Hour – has been selected as one of the laureates of the Fritt Ord Foundation and the ZEIT-Stiftung Free Media Prizes for Independent Journalism in Eastern Europe. Currently in prison, Seymur Hazi was arrested on August 29, 2014, after a fight with a man named Maharram Hasanov in Baku’s Jeyranbatan settlement.

Motions denied in Murad Adilov's appeal hearing

    On September 3, Shirvan Appeal Court, chaired by judge Ismayil Ahmadov, held the preliminary hearing on the appeal filed by APFP member Murad Adilov.
